ZTC PCIe 4X 10G Adapter Converter Card Fits SSD from 2013 MacBook Pro / Air A1465 A1466 A1502 A1398 by ZTC

For clarity, I'm an IT engineer.
This device doesn't show up in BIOS, Device Management or indeed anywhere else.
"The ZTC PCIe card allows users to read/write to the SSD from 2013 MacBook Pro and Air. After mounting the SSD to the adapter you can simply plug it to any PCIe 4x 8X or 16X slot to achieve the high speed provided by the 10G 4X lanes."

No you can't. The full length plate holds the card too high in the slot. Even with it removed and the card slid all the way home, nothing happens, but you can't leave it like that, PCIe slots aren't tight enough to hold the card properly.

Most of what I've read says that the card needs to have some form of rudimentary BIOS onboard to allow commuication through a PCIe slot as this port does not have drive controllers.
There is NOTHING on this adaptor, it simply a slot that is wired to PCIe port with nothing in between.
