The NETGEAR FS100 series of fast ethernet switches brings the 100Mbps switching technology in a compact form factor to the small office marketplace at an aggressive price. These switches segment networks for improved performance, enabling the most demanding multimedia and imaging applications.
Modestly priced, the FS108P is ideal for a small business that wishes to inexpensively use Power over Ethernet (PoE) to deploy wireless access points and IP-based network surveillance cameras. PoE eliminates the requirement for a dedicated electrical outlet to power wireless devices. This allows for flexibility in situating wireless devices where AC power is difficult to access and lowers installation costs. The FS108P works by providing power and data from a single point over a single Cat-5 (Ethernet) cable.
